Summer Meal Program

Please consider helping the pantry in providing food for the school age children in the Pickerington Local School District who live in poverty.

The school district provides a summer lunch program at Tussing Elementary during the month of June, but does not offer any service for the remaining six weeks of the summer break.  The Fairfield County Foundation has graciously provided the pantry a grant for this program.  However, additional support is needed.

We are asking for your financial support to purchase food at a deeply discounted rate from the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.  With your support, the pantry will be able to provide each child a weekly meal basket including the following items for only $5.34 each week: Soup (2 cans), Pasta with Meat (2 cans), Macaroni and Cheese (2 boxes), Pork and Beans (2 cans), Vegetables (2 cans), Fruit (2 cans), and Snacks (8 items).

You can also help by sponsoring a child for the entire summer for only $32.00, by donating a completed meal package, and/or by volunteering during our assembly of the packages for the children.

We will assemble the meal packages each Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. starting June 30 through August 4, 2019.  Donated complete packages may also be delivered to the pantry during this time.

Families will be able to walk-in during the following service hours to receive a weekly meal package for each of their school age children, from Monday, July 1 through Saturday, August 10, 2019:

Monday  6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Thursday  10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Thank you for your consideration in supporting this program.  By working together, we can provide this much needed service for our children.
